It was nice to find a site devoted to Dennis Wheatley . When I was a teenager I had most of his books.  I have built a small collection in recent years of the ones that I consider to be his best.  I suppose that one of his attractions is his absolute political incorrectness ,very refreshing in these times. I note that the BBC treated him fairly seriously in a series on postwar Britain aired on BBC 4 a few years back.
Was he in fact the British war cabinets occult advisor in world war 2?. A man with a    possibly criminal past had a wife working for MI5  and although only a junior officer in world war 1 he was given a commission in the RAF and asked to advise the war cabinet. Of course he was a best selling author who was read by King George VI but does that account for it ?.

I agree his political views are not in synch with our times ! I don't know if you saw it, but as well as the factual programme you mention ('A Letter To Posterity') he was also portrayed as one of the characters in a drama documentary based on the real life Deception Planners called 'Fooling Hitler'. It was originally shown a few years ago but gets repeated from time to time. I don't think Churchill would have had much truck with an 'occult adviser' and think DW was hired more for his wide ranging imagination, which thought up some pretty extraordinary ways to slow down Hitler - some of which were of course actually adopted. That said, he did suggest to one of his high up friends in MI5 that they recruit the odd exotic character, but I think this was for purely non occult ends, and as far as I know the matter was never followed up. Unless you know differently, of course ... Glad you're enjoying this site. If you haven't discovered it there is also an official website, www.denniswheatley.info that is worth visiting. All best
